Doula Service
WHAT IS A DOULA?
The role of a Doula is to support the birthing person throughout the period of pregnancy, labor and beyond. The difference between a Doula and a Midwife is that a Midwife provides all of the Medical support during a pregnancy and a Doula provides all of the physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, labor and postpartum.
Our Doulas are able to give education in childbirth as a natural, physiological, sacred event and give you tools for preparing for and coping with the process of labor. We offer in-home doula services throughout pregnancy that include educational support, prenatal yoga, meditation and visualization practices, breathing practices, preparation and support for the process of labor and optional birth attendance whether it be a home birth or hospital / clinic birth.
We take a Holistic approach to our Doula services educating our clients on the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of pregnancy, labor and beyond. Our services focus on informed consent and shared decision making. We believe that it is the right of the birthing person to be adequately informed throughout the entire process of pregnancy and the options that they have in choosing the perfect birthing environment for their family.
We believe that the reclamation of physiological birth starts within education on Birth as a natural process in a woman's life.
We support the family in creating a birth plan as well as covering all of the possible outcomes for situations that arise forcing us to navigate decisions outside of the birth plan including giving information regarding the routine hospital interventions and how to advocate for a birth with the least intervention necessary in or out of the hospital.
We believe that all women deserve loving and compassionate labor support regardless of their chosen birth location.
